Understanding the Vault connection status

The Matters page shows one clear Vault connection status at a time. Here is what each state means and the action to take.

The three states

Green "Google Vault connected": your account is authenticated and your Vault matters are listed below.

Amber "Google Vault not connected" / "connection expired": there is no valid token, or it expired and could not refresh automatically. Click Connect Google Vault to (re)authenticate. You will see this until you complete the OAuth flow.

"No Vault matters accessible": your account is connected, but Google returned no Vault matters for it. This usually means the signed-in Google account does not have Google Vault enabled, or has not been granted access to any matters. Check that you are using a Workspace account on a Vault-eligible plan with matter access, then use Retry.

One state at a time

These states are mutually exclusive: you will not see "connected" and "not connected" at the same time.
