Data security, backup, and deletion
ScoopVault runs encrypted offsite backups on a daily schedule. Active-system deletion and expiry from rotated backup copies are separate processes.
What is backed up
The daily backup covers the database, the collected evidence under exports and attachments, and the configuration needed for recovery. The backup is encrypted before it leaves production. The configured rotation is 14 days. A controlled restore of a production backup set was verified on 17 October 2026.
Deletion timeline
Verified written deletion instructions are handled through ScoopVault support under the applicable agreement and engagement arrangements. Removal from active systems does not immediately remove an item from existing encrypted backups; those copies expire through the configured rotation, subject to applicable retention obligations.
