Data security, backup, and deletion
ScoopVault backs up your investigation data daily to encrypted offsite storage, and deletion at the end of an engagement follows a fixed, documented timeline.
What is backed up
Two things, daily at 02:00 UTC: the database (investigation metadata, flags, notes, audit logs) and the email exports (MBOX files and Chain of Custody PDFs that form the forensic record). Backups are retained for 14 days: the configured rotation window, verified against live storage.
Deletion timeline
On engagement end or verified request, data is deleted from live systems within 30 days; backup copies expire from the 14-day rotation thereafter.
